My wife and I cannot thank you and Peter enough for all of your assistance in planning, implementing and moral support during our recent move from our New Jersey home for the last 35 years to a smaller home in Florida.

As you know we are in our early eighties and were overwhelmed by the task ahead of us. What to keep, what to give away and what to throw away? So much stuff, so many memories and then how to get the saved stuff to Florida? I was planning to rent a trailer, however, that required putting a trailer hitch on our car which I would never use again and a moving company or Fed X were going to be very expensive even though we were trying to cut done on what we were taking. Peter came up with the perfect solution, a U-Box container. We would load it in New Jersey, U- Haul then ships it to Florida and we unloaded it in Florida.

After you helped us cull out several tubs of things we no longer needed and took it for charity, Peter then helped me pack the rest and loaded it in his truck and drove us to U-Haul and load it into the box. WOW! End of problem.

Thank you again for your patient and caring expertise during what could have been extremely trying experience.

I am extremely grateful for your work in moving my parents from their house of 50 years to a nearby apartment. You managed the process beautifully and knew just how much guidance and assistance to give my parents (and me) at each step – from figuring out what would fit in the new apartment, to drawing up a floorplan, to identifying and donating/selling/disposing of possessions that should not be kept, to packing what would be kept and moved, to arranging interviews with reputable movers and guiding the selection process, to coordinating with the super at the new building, to having the apartment impeccably cleaned, to unpacking and setting up the apartment for my parents’ arrival, and to checking in on them a couple of times after the move. Your initial budget proved to be a reasonable estimate of the ultimate cost and you kept a good eye on cost throughout. It is difficult to sort through a lifetime’s worth of possessions and you were sensitive to the emotional aspects of the move and really gained my parents’ trust and confidence. I particularly appreciated the care with which you shopped for and installed all those little things like drawer organizers, bathroom supplies, fresh linens, etc. It was great that Peter was around to work with my Dad while you worked with my Mom, as well as for small handiwork at the apartment like installing grab bars in the bathroom and slightly modifying the built-in unit so that my parents’ furniture could fit with it. You kept me informed and involved at every turn, so that I was comfortable that the process was under control and I was able to coordinate it from far away. Probably the greatest compliment is that my parents felt so comfortable, unburdened and happy when they arrived at the apartment, completely clean, stocked, set up and ready for them to settle in.

As we began to organize and pack up to move out of our house (living room, dining room, den, 3 bed rooms, recreation room, cellar and attic) after 46 years, it seemed clear we couldn’t do it without some help. We looked at Erickson’s list of Move Managers and decided to interview Holly Floersheimer of Manageable Move and Design. We like her and hired her. What we didn’t realize was that we were hiring a well-oiled team. Holly’s husband Peter was always there doing a myriad of necessary tasks.

From the beginning Holly was a great help organizing, packing and getting rid of things we were not taking. You name it; she got it done with a cheerful encouraging smile. It didn’t end there. Moving day, September 12, 2016, she was at our house bright and early to help with last minute details. The move itself went very smoothly.

Holly and Peter came to our new home to greet the movers and help with the unpacking, arranging furniture and even made our bed. For the next several days Holly and Peter would come by and continue to help us get settled in our new home. The dining room chandelier was hung; divider trays for the kitchen drawers were purchased; more cartons unpacked; etc. etc.

Now 3 months after our move their relationship with us continues. Peter is due to arrive to change casters on a desk chair so it will roll more easily on the carpet.

We can honestly say we couldn’t have done it without Holly and Peter. We feel we made a wise choice that was well worth the modest price.
